Man Utd in talks with Real Madrid's Casillas

Manchester United have already held two rounds of talks with the agent of Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas.

AS says United are monitoring Casillas' new contract talks, with the Spanish international's current deal having little over a year to run.

United representatives have spoken twice with Gines Carvajal about Casillas' situation, whose priority is to re-sign with Real.

However, Madrid have been dragging their feet over Casillas' new deal and the goalkeeper is already taking English lessons in preparation of a possible move to the Premiership.

Casillas will be disappointed with Real's new contract offer, which will fall well short of the parity he wants with the club's best paid players.

United are prepared to meet the Spaniard's demands, with a preliminary offer to Carvajal of £3.5 million-a-year for five seasons.
