Man Utd face Beckham, Real Madrid showdown in USA

Manchester United could face David Beckham's Real Madrid next summer in the United States.

Promoters Champions World are seeking three opponents to play United in their return to the USA, with Real being one of the European giants sounded out.

Champions World spokesman Rich Schneider told the Guardian: "We are talking to a whole bunch of teams, but primarily top European sides of Champions League calibre."

Asked if any other English clubs were involved, Schneider was non-committal, adding: "I could not be certain but it is possible."
