Man Utd chasing Real Madrid fullback Coentrao

Manchester United are chasing Real Madrid fullback Fabio Coentrao.

The Daily Express says Real coach Carlo Ancelotti is believed to be on the look-out for a new left-back in the transfer window, and Coentrao is the player set to be sacrificed ahead of Brazilian Marcelo.

AS Monaco are also interested in Coentrao, but United will be hoping that on-loan striker Falcao and club-record signing Angel Di Maria will play a big part in securing the Portugal international's signature.

The players all share the same agent, Jorge Mendes, and Louis van Gaal hopes that Coentrao will be steered towards Old Trafford in January as a result.
