Man Utd boss to contact Real Madrid's Owen about move

Manchester United will make their push for Real Madrid star Michael Owen in the next 24 hours.
 
With a deal needing to be finalised before Thursday night's Champions League transfer deadline, United boss Sir Alex Ferguson knows it is now or never to land the former Liverpool star.

Owen has an £11 million release clause in his Real deal and Ferguson has been given the green light by the Glazer family to meet that price.

Ferguson is expected to contact Owen tomorrow morning to let him know his plans. The England man is desperate for a return to the Premiership after Real swooped for attacking rivals Julio Baptista and Robinho over the weekend.
