Man Utd alerted as Roberto Carlos wants English move

Manchester United have been alerted to Roberto Carlos' comments that he would like to play in England.

The Real Madrid wing-back had talks with United boss Sir Alex Ferguson before the World Cup and confirmed yesterday: "After proving myself in Italy and Spain, I would like to play some time in England," he stated.

"The English have a special form of soccer because it is sincere, authentic and the players there do not throw themselves to the ground to obtain decisions."

"Italy has a very serious football game and it is not watched like a spectacle."
