Man Utd alerted as Real Madrid in talks with Ronaldo agent

Real Madrid are threatening to trump Manchester United for Sporting Lisbon starlet Cristiano Ronaldo.

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is preparing a £6 million offer for the Portugal U21 international attacker.

However, Ronaldo's agent, Jorge Mendes, met with Real sports chief Jorge Valdano this week to discuss a potential move to Spain.

Real are believed ready to bid £4 million for the youngster.
