Man Utd ace Ronaldo on Real Madrid president's shopping list

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is set to approach Manchester United for winger Cristiano Ronaldo.
 
Perez is seeking a replacement for Luis Figo, who will be handed a free transfer at the end of this season, and has the Portugal international whiz-kid in his sights.

AS says Perez has information that Ronaldo is unsettled in England and unhappy with his £1 million-a-year contract he currently has at Old Trafford.

Though wingers aren't a high priority for Real coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo in his present system, he has spoken with Perez about Ronaldo and told him he could find room in his starting XI for such a prodigious talent.

With talk of Joaquin on the verge of signing a new deal at Real Betis, Real Madrid could turn their sights on Ronaldo in the summer if given encouragement by the 20 year-old's intermediaries.
