Malaga, Tottenham approach Real Madrid for Portillo

Malaga are chasing Real Madrid striker Javier Portillo.

The Spanish U21 ace is the subject of a 12-month loan bid by Malaga, which also want a purchase option at the end of next season.

Tottenham have also made a firm enquiry for Portillo, along with Olympique Marseille and Nantes, which all approached Real for information on the striker this week.

Meanwhile, Benfica have held talks with Portillo's agent about next season. But the youngster insists his priority is to prove himself at Real, where he has a contract until 2007.
