Malaga keeper Calatayud aware of Real Madrid, Liverpool interest

Malaga goalkeeper Juan Calatayud has played down talk of a summer switch to Real Madrid.

The 25 year-old is expected to move to Real at season's end after signing a new contract extension with a revised buyout clause of a knockdown £5 million.

Asked why he signed the contract when he knew Real Madrid were chasing him, Calatayud told AS: "I did it because Malaga offered it to me. They're the team that gave me the opportunity to play in the Primera Liga."

"Also, I was told of an interest on the part of Liverpool ... it is flattering, but the project with which I identify myself is the one of Malaga."

"If Real Madrid come in for me, then the club benefits."
