French national team selector Roger Lemerre could take the Real Madrid to star for France in the Confederation Cup to be held in Japan at the end of the month. Makelele will probably be able to star in Sunday's game at Rayo Vallecano but not the following two matches against Alaves and Oviedo if he is called on by Lemerre.
Real Madrid coach Vicente Del Bosque will field either Flavio Concecaio or Albert Celades in place of Makelele, who will certainly miss the team's likely title-winning celebrations at Cibeles if he is on international call-up with France.
