Makelele: I am not valued by the watching media

Real Madrid's Claude Makelele feels that he is not valued by the media, as he is playing for a team full of star players.

Makelele said, when he was asked about who he would put is vote for in the World Player of the Year award: "First I would vote for ... Makelele, then Zidane and later Raul."

"I speak of myself because at the moment you don't seem to talk a lot about me."

"I have the impression that I am not valued by the watching media. Only the coaches congratulate me."

Makelele is the target for several clubs, including Manchester United and AS Roma.

He continued: "Vicente del Bosque tells me that if I am not 100 per cent on my game, then the team suffers. My position in the axis of midfield is fundamental. I keep everything together, running smoothly."

"When my teammates know that I'm in form, they also benefit because they can defend less and receive more accurate passes."
