Madrid Want Rid Of Solari

Real Madrid want to sell Santiago Solari to another club after his protracted move to Internazionale was called off after he failed to agree terms with the Serie A club.

The Argentinian midfielder was set to move to Inter as part of the deal that saw Ronaldo move to the Bernabeu last summer after the Italians picked him out from a list of six candidates.

But Solari could not agree terms and now wants to stay at Madrid, but the European champions do not want him.

"He was not happy with the offer from Inter, so that deal is off," explained Madrid's director of sport, Jorge Valdano.

"But we still intend to sell him because that is part of the long-term ecomonic and sporting strategy of the club."

"In the past few days we have received offers from other clubs and will be studying them carefully, but for now the situation is the same."

"He is a Madrid player and has been told that he is valuable to this club, but he also knows that we are looking at selling him."

Alejandro Camano, Solari's agent, was less optimistic that his client will find a new club before the transfer window closes because he has his heart set on staying at Real.

"All negotiations with Inter have now stopped," he stated. "The two parties could not agree on terms and therefore Santi will be not going anywhere."
