An unnamed Real Madrid director has told the Spanish newspaper Marca that the club will wait until next season to sign Lazio defender Alessandro Nesta.
An unnamed Real Madrid director has told the Spanish newspaper Marca that the club will wait until next season to sign Lazio defender Alessandro Nesta.
The club official said, "Right now, Real Madrid does not have a priority in signing Nesta, nor any other centre-half."
In talks with the Roman club, Real were also offered Claudio Lopez and Hernan Crespo as Lazio seek to sell their way out of financial trouble.
Real are expected to move for Nesta at the end of the season as negotiations with centre-half Karanka over a new contract have stalled and Fernando Hierro's form has caused concern amongst the coaching staff.
