Madrid is showing potential but we have a divided Bernabeu

Here is an update from our local reporter in Madrid Steffen Hansen.

Madrid is showing potential but we have a divided Bernabeu. Here is my opinion on the season start.

As you an see in the video, a well deserved party for all Madrid fans, players and staff. After 3 years of Barcelona dominating La liga, it was time for a change and what a change. 100 points in total and the victory in Camp Nou 1-2, was a very great moment for Mourinho and the club. Beating Barcelona in one of the most difficult pitches in the world, and winning with 100 points should give a understanding for everyone, that the team has potential to reach on to a even higher level of football, and try to win the treble or at least the double. But not everything has begun well as the Madridistas wanted in the new season.

The victory against Barcelona was a great victory in the Super Cup of Spain, but it has also created a very divided Bernabeu. Real Madrid was lucky in the first match, but at home they were superior in most of the game against Barcelona, and won the match well deserved. In the same match, a surprising criticism in different sections in the Bernabeu stadium of Higuain began. Higuain missed a lot of chances in the match before and after his goal. Since then fans has criticized players like Kaká, Coentrao and Cristiano for his announcement in the radio, after the match against Granada, that has caused problems in the squad. The criticism of Higuain is not fair in my opinion. Higuain did stay in Madrid and are willing to fight for his place. I think that the fans owes Higuain a great support, but the Bernabeu crowd is a very tuff crowd, and the players have to give their best in every match. Higuain was also criticized in the match against Deportivo.

Also the players lack of attitude against Granada, Valencia and Getafe has caused problems in the squad, but is seems that Madrid is now showing a great potential though the very bad start.

Beside the problems, Real Madrid has showed incredible play in the Champions League against Manchester City and Ajax, yesterday they managed to play with same ideas and tactics against Barcelona with the result of 2-2. Players like Kaká, Essien and Modric are also showing good attitude and are willing to fight for their places, and that has created a good spirit in the team. This could effect the Bernabeu crowd, that usually are supporting the team when they see players play with their heart, and when the 3 points are secured.

8 points after Barcelona is not shocking as it sounds like, to get a 2-2 draw in Camp Nou is a very good result for the later stage in the season. Ofcourse it will not be easy to work our way back, and it demands 100% concentration from every player in the first team the whole season. It also demands that Mourinho use more rotation in the squad, as the 3 tournaments are all important and players needs to rest. If Madrid keeps up the good work and don´t loose more silly points during the season, they will have a very good chance for winning the league one more time with Mourinho.

As allready said, Real Madrid has come of to a great start in the Championsleague, and can we keep playing at this level, we might see Real Madrid in the Championsleague final next year.
