The 29-year-old midfielder has been called up by Sven Goran Eriksson to form part of the England squad to face Mexico in a friendly next weekend and Greece in a World Cup qualifier in the following week.
The international double-header coincides with Real's game with Alaves - a match that could well see the league title return to The Bernabeu for the first time since 1996.
