Macca: Liverpool ace Owen would love Real Madrid

Manchester City midfielder Steve McManaman says Liverpool's Michael Owen would love life at Real Madrid.

"Michael's got 18 months left on his contract and I think he's said he's yet to speak to Liverpool," said the Manchester City midfielder.

"But I don't know what he's going to do. He's got a young child and he seems to be very settled where he lives."

"But if he came to me and said 'what was Real Madrid like?', I would say that Real Madrid was the most wonderful experience I've ever had."

"But I don't want to say he should definitely go and each to their own. For me it was the right time to go."

"My girlfriend had finished her studies and I wanted to go. I know Michael's girlfriend Louise very well and they both seem happy and settled with their families so if he's happy why leave?"
