Macca Dismisses Arsenal Link

Steve McManaman has dismissed rumours linking him with a move to Arsenal, but he will consider his future at Real Madrid in the summer.

The England international has vowed to battle on until the end of the current campaign and then weigh up his options at the Bernabeu having made only two league appearances for them this season.

"I have heard about the Arsenal thing," he explained. "But I really do not think there is any interest there, it is merely a newspaper story."

"I like Spanish football and, at the moment, I think prefer it to English football."

"It would be ideal to be playing more games, but if I don't play more often between now and the end of the season then I will consider leaving."

"For now I am happy, but I will have to see what happens in the enxt five months."

"I know that it is very difficult to earn a place in this Real Madrid side, but I am still pleased with the way we are playing and that we are second in the league."
