Luxemburgo warns off Liverpool from Morientes

Real Madrid coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo is set to block striker Fernando Morientes' move to Liverpool.

Luxemburgo warned Anfield boss Rafael Benitez: "I do not like reinforcing the rivals. If Morientes was going away to Liverpool we are helping an enemy."

"I want to speak personally with Morientes to know how he is and what he is thinking. Later I will meet the club and we will decide the best thing for all."

Morientes's agent, Gines Carvajal, said: "We have asked the club for a rapid decision. The opinion of Luxemburgo will be decisive in the future of Morientes."
