Luxemburgo praises Real Madrid pair Guti, Woodgate

Real Madrid coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo insists he has always rated Guti highly.
 
The Spain international was outstanding in Thursday night's 3-1 win over Athletic Bilbao after he was returned to the starting line-up by Luxemburgo.

There had been a growing feeling that Luxemburgo didn't rate Guti, but he insisted yesterday: "I have never said anything negative about Guti. I have always believed he had great qualities. I do not have any doubts about him."

Luxemburgo also praised Jon Woodgate, despite his send-off on debut.

"Woodgate was good after so many months out. He had bad luck. An own goal and a dismissal, but he began with calm and I believe that Real Madrid has signed a great player."
