Luxemburgo one game from Real Madrid sack

Real Madrid coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo faces a must-win game this weekend at Real Sociedad if he is to save his job.
 
Real president Florentino Perez chaired a scheduled board meeting yesterday, where the topic of Luxemburgo's future dominated discussions.

Dismissal before this weekend's trip to San Sebastian has been ruled out, but a heavy defeat will spell the end of Luxemburgo's time at Real.

A boardroom insider told AS yesterday: "The team played well in the first-half against Lyon - and after all we drew and already are qualified for the Champions League quarterfinals."

"But if in Anoeta we lose and we see a performance similar to the one against Barça, the situation will be untenable."
