Luka Modric to Bayern Munich: German giants eye £27m swoop, Real Madrid willing to talk

Bayern Munich are reportedly readying a stunning raid on Real Madrid for star man Luka Modric.

Modric left Tottenham for Real in August 2012 for £30m, winning eight major honours in over 200 appearances for the club since.

Spanish outlet Don Balon claim German giants Bayern are now ready to launch a summer swoop for the Croatian midfielder.

It is said that Bayern are eager to add a new experienced player to their youthful ranks with Philipp Lahm set to retire.

And Modric is at the top of their wish-list.

The ex-Dinamo Zagreb ace is also said to be interested in working with Carlo Ancelotti again.

Don Balon add that Bayern are considering an offer of around £27m, an amount Real are willing to discuss given that Modric will turn 32 years old in September.

Bayern and Real have a good working relationship in terms of transfer dealings with Xabi Alonso, Arjen Robben and Toni Kroos all switching between the clubs in recent years.

Modric’s Real dumped Bayern out of the Champions League earlier this week as a Cristiano Ronaldo hat-trick helped them to claim a 6-3 win on aggregate.
