Luis Figo Eyes Top Fifa Award

Real Madrid could be in for a strange struggle for honours inside the dressing room. Two players from the Merengue court are chasing Fifa's top award whose winner will be announced on December 17.

"It's an immense satisfaction to be nominated", Luis Figo said. "But it would be even greater to clinch it".

Yesterday it was rumoured team-mate Raul Gonzalez was odds-on favourite to be given the accolade.

In those cases, the award would definitely stay in the 'Casa Blanca', as French genius Zinedine Zidane is last year's winner.
