Liverpool turn to Real Madrid whiz Juanfran

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is expected to try for Real Madrid midfielder Juanfran after Luis Figo admitted he wouldn't be joining the European champs last night.

Benitez has long admired Juanfran, who wants regular first team football and is prepared to leave Real this summer.

Juanfran, Figo's understudy, played no part in Real's 3-1 victory over Jubilo Iwata in Tokyo yesterday.
