Liverpool to beat Arsenal to signing of £15million star

Liverpool are set to beat competition from Premier League rivals Arsenal to the signature of Real Madrid star Denis Cheryshev, according to reports from the Daily Star.

Liverpool have been targeting Cheryshev for quite a while now but it seemed like the Reds would be missing out on the signing of the Russian international after he expressed his desire to stay put at Real Madrid in order to fight for a place in the first team last month.

However recently, reports linking Cheryshev away Madrid had been gathering steam once again after Arsenal had recently expressed their interest in signing the 24-year old.

Arsenal’s interest is said to have inadvertently reignited Liverpool’s pursuit for Cheryshev as well and it can now be revealed that the Reds have already launched a formal bid in order to beat off competition from their Premier League rivals for the winger.

According to the Daily Star, Liverpool have placed a bid of around £14.7million and although it falls below Real’s £15million asking price of Cheryshev, the Spanish giants are reportedly ready to accept the Reds’ offer.
