Liverpool rival Man Utd for Real Madrid's Solari

Liverpool have joined Manchester United interest for Real Madrid winger Santiago Solari.

The Argentina international is off contract in the summer and has been offered a new deal on reduced terms by Real's board.

Solari almost joined United in August and remains on the Premiership giants' shopping list.

But Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is also keen, viewing Solari as a potential replacement for underperforming left-winger Harry Kewell.

If Solari continues to resist Real's offer he is free to sign a pre-contract with a rival club from January 1.
