Liverpool, Newcastle target Woodgate wants Real Madrid stay

Real Madrid defender Jonathan Woodgate says he isn't touting himself for a Premiership return.

Woody has been linked with Liverpool and Newcastle, but says: "The last thing on my mind is a move when Real have looked after me so well for the last year."

"I've played in only three games and I want to prove myself to Real Madrid as a player. I signed a four-year deal and I like to think I'm here for the long haul."

"I have to pay the club back because they have looked after me through the tough times."

"Never once have they said anything bad about me and they have backed me all the way. I have a lot to give back to them and to the fans as well."
