Liverpool considering €100 million move for Real Madrid captain

Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Real Madrid captain Federico Valverde, with the Premier League club considering an offer worth approximately €100 million.

Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Real Madrid captain Federico Valverde, with the Premier League club considering an offer worth approximately €100 million.
According to Bernabeu Digital, the Uruguayan has emerged as a potential midfield reinforcement for the Premier League side, despite becoming an important part of Jose Mourinho’s plans at right-back.
Valverde’s versatility makes him an attractive option for Liverpool, particularly amid uncertainty surrounding Alexis Mac Allister, who is in fact a Real Madrid target.
Despite these developments, however, Real Madrid have no intention of losing one of their most important players.
Liverpool’s interest in Valverde is connected to the possibility of Mac Allister leaving the club.
Should the Argentine depart, the Premier League side would need to identify a midfielder capable of maintaining the quality and physical intensity of its engine room.
Valverde fits that profile through his versatility, work rate and experience.
Although Mourinho has deployed him in defence, Liverpool continue to value his midfield qualities and ability to influence matches across different areas of the pitch.
According to the outlet, Liverpool are considering an offer close to €100 million to test Real Madrid’s resolve, although the chances of the Uruguayan leaving are next to zero.
Valverde’s situation at the Santiago Bernabeu has become particularly interesting following Mourinho’s decision to establish him as the team’s first-choice right-back.
The Portuguese manager values the midfielder’s physical strength, intensity and ability to contribute offensively from the defensive position.
While Valverde could still feature in midfield when required, Mourinho considers the right-back role his primary position this season.
Notably, this tactical adjustment has not diminished his importance to Real Madrid, but has, in fact, made him the first choice ahead of regular starters.
Despite Liverpool’s interest and the possibility of a substantial financial offer, it is clear that Real Madrid are not considering Valverde’s departure.
The Uruguayan is regarded as a fundamental component of Mourinho’s sporting project, with the manager placing considerable trust in his leadership and tactical flexibility.
Liverpool’s interest could therefore prove impossible to translate into a transfer, because Real Madrid are unlikely to budge on their position.
