Liverpool complete signing of Nunez

Liverpool have completed the signing of Spanish midfielder Antonio Nunez from Real Madrid on a three-year deal, the premier league club said on Tuesday.

The 25-year-old has joined Liverpool as part of an exchange deal which took England striker Michael Owen in the opposite direction for a reported 12 million euros.

Nunez, who has been given the number 12 shirt, trained with his new team on Tuesday after passing a medical and could play in the premier league match at home to Manchester City on Saturday, the club said.

"Last season I found how hard it would be to play for Real and I know Liverpool will be the same, but I hope to get some more minutes on the pitch," said Nunez, who made 11 league appearances for the Spanish club last season.
