Liverpool chief tells Real Madrid to forget Benitez

Liverpool chief Rick Parry has warned Real Madrid off their manager Rafa Benitez.
 
Parry told the News of the World: "I want to see Rafa here indefinitely. Why should we even consider him leaving when things are going so well?"

"If Real Madrid called me up tomorrow, my reaction would be a very polite but firm 'goodbye'."

"Obviously, I would talk to Rafa first because we have a policy of openness and honesty with him and these are the very qualities we have to show to keep him here."

"Whether one day the lure of Madrid will prove too irresistible, who knows?"

"But we are not complacent about it."

"There is no need for us to discuss a new contract with him at present. It's far more important that he is winning and is happy with what we are doing here."
