Lineker urges Beckham: Don't ignore Barcelona, Real Madrid offers

Former Barcelona striker Gary Lineker has told David Beckham not to reject the chance to move to Spain.

The Manchester United midfielder is wanted by both Real Madrid and Barcelona and Lineker says: "These clubs are used to signing the world's greatest players."

"When they come calling, you cannot hang around - you must respond quickly."

"David has played many years in the same country and an offer like this from a Spanish club is very attractive."

"New challenges can never be bad football-wise or for personal development."

But he warned: "In England, you get one year to find your feet and adapt. But in Spain, if you start the season badly it can end up going catastrophically wrong."
