Liga Reaction: Antic: "We Deserved To Win"

Raddy Antic declared that Barcelona deserved to beat Real Madrid and criticised the officials after the Catalans 1-1 draw in the Bernabeu.

The Serb coach was satisfied with the point, but was in no doubt that his side had done enough to win the match in which Ronaldo opened the scoring for Real before Luis Enrique levelled for the visitors.

But he also claimed after the classic encounter that the match had provided Barca with enough confidence for them to now face Juventus in the Champions League in midweek.

"We deserved to win the game," he stated. "I am honestly able to say that we were the better side."

"Some of the refereeing decisions were not the best though. Zinedine Zidane's elbow on Carles Puyol and Gaizka Mendieta's offside goal were two instances where I thought they got things wrong."

"But I really think that we have let slip an opportunity to beat Madrid and, perhaps, with a bit more luck we would have done it."

"We played with authority and this performance has given everyone a boost before we go on to play Juve on Tuesday."

Luis Enrique was also pleased with Barcelona's display after he drove them on with an inspirational captain's performance.

"We have played to all our strengths and we had far more possession of the ball," the ex-Real Madrid player explained.

"I was pleased with my goal and I dedicate it to Barca fans everywhere."

"But I would also like to say how sporting the fans were in the stadium. The match was played as a spectacle and never once were the players in any danger from the fans."
