Levante secured promotion to the Primera Liga 39 years after dropping out of the top flight thanks to a 2-1 win away to Xerez on Saturday.
The Valencia-based side, who cannot now finish lower than third in the Spanish second division, lead the table on 75 points, five ahead of Getafe, who beat Ciudad de Murcia 2-1, and seven ahead of Alaves who play fellow promotion hopefuls Numancia on Sunday.
Levante's promotion completes a year of footballing triumphs for the Mediterranean city after neighbours Valencia won both the Spanish title and the UEFA Cup.
Levante, who are coached by former Racing Santander boss Manuel Preciado, have spent only two seasons in the top flight in their 95-year history from 1963-65.
