Leeds 'reject' Milito named Argentina's best as Barcelona, Real Madrid close-in

Barcelona and Real Madrid target Gaby Milito has been named as Argentina's Player of the Year.

Amazingly, Milito could have signed with Leeds United earlier this month, but the deal was blocked by chairman Peter Ridsdale over a disagreement regarding the defender's sell-on rights.

The Independiente centre-half is being chased by both Spanish giants, with Barca credited as new favourites to land the youngster.

Independiente are asking around £5 million for Milito, who is now a member of Argentina's national squad.
