Leeds boss would love £16M Raul on permanent deal

Leeds United boss Terry Venables has admitted he'd love to sign new fullback Raul Bravo to a permanent deal.

Raul is on-loan from Real Madrid for the rest of the season and his contract has a buyout clause of £16 million.

Venables said: "Having him here for the rest of the campaign is a massive plus for us."

"I have been aware of him for some time through my contacts in Spain and they were able to do a very good job in getting him for us."

"We shall be talking about the possibility of getting him here full time - although I think it will be very expensive."

Raul revealed Real teammate Steve McManaman convinced him to join Leeds last month.

He said, "Macca told me he had a couple of good friends at Leeds."

"He told me I had nothing to worry about going there and it was a club which would treat me well."
