Lazio eye sensational Raul swoop

Lazio's owner Sergio Cragnotti seems to have made a super offer to Real Madrid's President Florentino Perez to bring Raul to Rome next season.

In order to bring Raul to Lazio where he could be paired up with Hernan Crespo to form an extra-ordinary striking partnership, Cragnotti is willing to surrender both Juan Sebastian Veron and Marcelo Salas, with a bid that exceeds by far the worth of Raul.

As a matter of fact, the Spanish player is said to be valued at approximately $US60million while the combined worth of Veron and Salas is of over $US70million.

Perez has probably for the first time, decided to think about this possible deal instead of turning it down cold.

However Perez seems to have also made an offer to Lazio for Salas alone: Defender Michel Salgado + $US20million.

Cragnotti, who had always been interested in Salgado, will however only accept this deal if Real refuses to sell Raul.

On the other hand, Cragnotti is also trying to keep the negotiations with Barcelona open. In the unlikely event that the Azulgrana would decided to sell Rivaldo, the Italian businessman would be ready to surrender former Valencia player Claudio Lopez.

Lopez could also be offered to his former team in order to beat AC Milan in the competition for Gaizka Mendita, even though the Rossoneri, who started negotiations much earlier, seems to have an advantage over the reigning champions.

In any case Lopez, will be surrendered only if a great player will be offered for a swap.
