Lazio And Real Madrid Negotiating Over Nesta?

Lazio president Sergio Cragnotti is currently negotiating the transfer of Italian international center-back Alessandro Nesta to Real Madrid, according to reports in the Italian press.

Real Madrid are supposedly offering $50 million for Nesta, but the report has not been confirmed by either club.

A Lazio spokesman refused to comment on the report, and would not confirm the whereabouts of club president Cragnotti.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez and sporting director Jorge Valdano also would not venture a comment on the report.

Real Madrid’s interest in Nesta has been no secret, but until now Lazio considered the defender untouchable.

The two clubs are also in the midst of negotiations for Lazio’s Chilean international striker Marcelo Salas, but talks have recently stalled due to economic differences.
