Lawyers confident charges dismissed for Real Madrid ace Benzema

Lawyers for Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema are confident preliminary charges will be dropped after the revelation of new evidence in favour of the Frenchman.

Sylvain Cormier, Benzema's lawyer, said the player's former girlfriend was with Benzema on the evening he allegedly solicited an under-age prostitute.

Cormier said: "This witness is serious and what (she) says is verifiable", and that he hoped for "a rapid dismissal" of the case against Benzema.
