Lauren Fuels Rumours That Vieira Will Join Real Madrid

Arsenal's right-back Lauren has given the strongest indication yet that his Highbury team-mate Patrick Vieira is heading for Real Madrid.

The Cameroon international was signed from Real Mallorca at the beginning of last season.

He told the Daily Star: "Patrick has asked me continually about Madrid, the club, the Spanish La Liga and Spanish football in general."

"He has also asked what it is like playing in Spain and about life in general in the country."

"Because of the way he is, Patrick would fit perfectly into Madrid's plans and their new philosophy of signing great players who stand out because of their ability on and off the pitch and in any league in the world."
