Michael Laudrup is a shock candidate for Fabio Capello's job at Real Madrid.

The former Real and Barcelona star has emerged as a genuine prospect to succeed Capello, says DiarioSport, as concerns grow over Bernd Schuster's chances of getting out of his contract at Getafe.

Real president Ramon Calderon has alternatives should Schuster decide to stay with Getafe and Laudrup, who has been out of work for almost a year after leaving Brondby, is high on his shortlist.

Only last week, talks between Laudrup and Recreativo Huelva broke down, fueling talk that the Dane was keeping himself available for a bigger job.
