La Liga president Tebas speaks about Negreira case
La Liga president Javier Tebas spoke about the influence of the Negreira case in Spanish football and shared his thoughts about the referees.
“I continue to think exactly the same thing about the Negreira case: what happened was very serious and must be investigated until the end,” said Tebas.
However, he also disagreed with most of Real Madrid’s complaints.
“It’s one thing to investigate facts that concluded years ago, and quite another to construct in 2026 the narrative that Negreira is still influencing Spanish refereeing today. That’s outrageous. And repeating it on Real Madrid TV doesn’t make it true,” he added.
“What do some people want? For us to eliminate FC Barcelona and its current directors from LaLiga’s life? For LaLiga to replace the courts, issue its own verdict, and execute a sentence before there’s even a judicial resolution?” he concluded.
