La Liga giants join chase for Liverpool and Manchester City target

According to German newspaper Kicker, Barcelona and Real Madrid are interested in signing Schalke star Leroy Sane. The 20-year-old is in the wish-list of a few big clubs in Europe, since he made his debut for the German national team.

Kicker claims Schalke's hope of keeping one of their best talents at the club looks increasingly unlikely to hold out, and he is almost certain to leave in the summer. The German club will, so say Kicker, be forced to sell him if any club bids around the €50 million mark. 

Pep Guardiola, who is expected to be join Manchester City in the summer, is impressed by Sane and wants him at City next season, while Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has been a long term admirer of Sane, but might have to look elsewhere if the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid enter the bidding war.

It is also reported Sane is expected to stay at Schalke this season, and any transfer in January is highly unlikely. 

Manchester City interest in Sane has been heavily covered by Bild recently, and we wondered whether the idea of a transfer was being pushed by someone in the Germany. Over a period of a week or so, Bild started by saying Manchester City would offer €40m, then raised to €55m, and then claimed the player would cost €65m.
