Manuel Pellegrini has stated the importance of Real Madrid's match against Milan in the Champions League tomorrow night, declaring that his side will go for the Rossoneri's throats from the offset.

"It's important to win the game as it goes a long way to securing qualification," the Chilean coach told the club's official website.

"It will be a game between two great teams with some great players. It's very important for us to get the three points, and we will go for them from the first minute."

"I hope things go well and we take first place back, but we will still have to win the other two games in this first phase."

Club president Florentino Perez has recently given Pellegrini his backing, but the coach himself has claimed that he has never felt nervous in the role.

"I have always felt calm. The directors have a clear and serious project. The rest is just rumours and I have never felt uneasy because these rumours are coming from outside of the club."
