Interestingly, a report from AS has emerged, saying the star forward has sent his message to PSG, affirming that he will announce his next destination in the next two weeks.
Right now, Mbappe only has two options at his disposal; continue at PSG or accept Real Madrid’s proposal, which has already been sent to the player.
Unlike what has been said in the media, PSG have not offered a new contract to Mbappe yet. They have just asked him if he wants to stay in the team or not. If he agrees, then they’ll start negotiating a renewal.
Now, it is to be noted that Mbappe does have an option of extending his stay with PSG for one more year, but the player must agree to trigger that clause and in doing so, he would earn a whopping €70 million in France.
On the other hand, what Real Madrid are offering is around €30 million per year.
Both Real Madrid and PSG are tense these days, expecting the deal to happen. For Real Madrid, signing Mbappe is not as crucial as it was before because they have other top players like Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Jr.
On the other hand, PSG would be really upset if Mbappe left. They’ve worked hard to keep him happy in Paris, and now he’s a central part of their plans, unlike before when he had to compete with Lionel Messi and Neymar.
It’s really important for Mbappe to stay in Ligue 1 because, without him, the league could lose its value. This is especially crucial after Messi and Neymar left. Plus, there are negotiations happening for the sale of TV rights for the next five years.
On top of that, PSG is talking to the Paris City Council about keeping control of Parc des Princes and giving it a major makeover, similar to what Real Madrid did with the Bernabéu, which would cost over €2 billion. All these plans are in jeopardy if Mbappe leaves.
