Kylian Mbappe considering PSG exit after World Cup defeat

Kylian Mbappe will go down as one of the unluckiest players in World Cup history after his French side lost to Argentina in the final despite his extraordinary hat-trick.

And according to a report from Diario SPORT, the World Cup defeat has left Mbappe frustrated and could catapult his desire to leave Paris Saint-Germain in the near future.

Even before the start of the World Cup, Mbappe was at odds with the PSG board and was not entirely happy with the club’s project. Their underperformance in European competitions was also a telling factor behind his uneasiness at the club.

Mbappe was expected to arrive in Paris today and reflect on his situation at PSG. Missing out on the FIFA World Cup title could play a part in speeding up the process of his potential departure from the club.

Although the forward realises that a January exit is next to impossible, he could eye for an exit at the end of the season. To that end, Real Madrid are attentive to the situation and are keeping close track of his relationship with the PSG board.

Even though the Whites had denied the possibility of splashing the cash on Mbappe earlier this season, his blazing performances in the World Cup could shift the minds of those in charge of the capital outfit.

Real Madrid, though, are facing stiff competition from Manchester United and Liverpool. Both the Premier League giants are attentive to the situation and want to bring the Frenchman to the English shores.

From Mbappe’s side, there is hope that PSG will understand the situation and consider offers even under the €150 million mark. The player, for his part, is willing to lower his salary to leave the PSG setup, knowing no other club in the world can offer him the same financial package.
