King Juan Carlos asks Real Madrid about Capello axe

King Juan Carlos of Spain has asked Real Madrid about the future of underfire coach Fabio Capello.

At the Chambers of Commerce General Assembly last week, His Majesty asked Real Madrid vice-president Vicente Boluda about Capello's situation.

El Mundo says the King asked: "When is Capello leaving?"

Taken aback, Boluda confided to the King that nothing could be done while Capello's compensation remained unsettled.
