Karanka injury blow

Central defender Aitor Karanka will undergo scans on the injury he picked up against Rayo Vallecano on Sunday.

The 27 year old Basque fell injured at the tail end of the game and was replaced by Geremi Fotso. Real's medics fear that Karanka may have torn a muscle putting his chances of featuring in next weekend's clash against Alaves into serious jeopardy.

Karanka is due to undergo a magnetic scan at the club's clinic on Monday to determine the exact extent of the injury.
