Kaka defends Real Madrid president Florentino's spending

Real Madrid signing Kaka has defended president Florentino Perez over his big-spending.

Reacting to the £80 million deal for Manchester United winger Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka said: "The signing of Cristioano Ronaldo was a big surprise for me, because everything happened very fast."

"It was a positive surprise, because a team like Real Madrid needs players who can decide a match. And Cristiano is one of those players that decide games."

"Florentino has a very clear policy, a way of doing things. It works well for Real Madrid and again we'll have a good team."
