Kahn vows to make amends

Bayern Munich captain Oliver Kahn vowed to make amends the day after his his late error gifted Real Madrid an equaliser in Tuesday's 1-1 Champions League draw at the Olympic Stadium.

The 34-year-old goalkeeper admitted he had made a howler but said that he was determined to win their return leg game single handedly.

"It's a great duty for me. Those who know me know that I will go beyond my limits. If we're eliminated because of that goal I will obviously take total responsibility. But it hasn't come to that yet."

The German international goalkeeper allowed Roberto Carlos' free-kick to slip under his massive frame with seven minutes left to deny Bayern a glorious win after Dutchman Roy Makaay had put Munich ahead on 75 minutes.

"I should have stopped it even without my two arms and two legs," said Kahn.

"That's a goalie's life. That can always happen. In this business the world can change in the space of a second."

But he ruled out talk that he was past his prime.

"I don't want to stop, and that will be the case for a few years," added Kahn.
