Juventus seek to set up January deal for Real Madrid playmaker Xabi

Juventus are in regular contact with the camp of Real Madrid midfielder Xabi Alonso.

With less than a year to run on his current deal, Xabi is emerging as a prime Bosman target for Juve. The former Liverpool man can commit to a pre-contract from January 1.

Fichajes.net says Juve are now in ongoing talks with Xabi's representatives about a move to Turin.

Negotiations over a new deal with Real have so far struggled to get going.
