Juventus, Real Madrid, Man Utd alerted as Marquez admits he's going

Europe's biggest and best have been alerted to Rafael Marquez's comments that he will be leaving AS Monaco.

The Mexican World Cup skipper is rated one of the best young defenders in Europe and confirmed yesterday: "The financial situation with Monaco is not the best and I have said that I am ready to leave ASM for a club of great level."

"I want to go to a large European club that is always competing for trophies."

Manchester United, Arsenal, Juventus, AS Roma, Real Madrid and Barcelona have all been linked with Marquez at different times over the past 12 months.

Significantly, the Mexican has not mentioned which country he'd prefer to move to and with Monaco's finances in dire straits, it could be a case of the French club accepting the first serious offer tabled ahead of January's transfer market.
